Baylor champions in the Division II Girls State Soccer
Tournament. Baylor defeated Father Ryan 2-0. Baylor gained control of the game early on in the first half with a goal by Pra Patanascon in the 5th minute of play. Baylor continued to charge the goal, but was unable to score again in the half due to the aggressive Father Ryan defensive. Baylor continued to dominate the game and Pra Patanascon scored the second and final goal in the 48th minute of play with an assist by Mary Logan. Father Ryan could not stop the offensive standout and Tournament MVP Pra Patanascon. Baylors domination reinforced their national ranking. |

II Girls State Soccer Tournament concluded Friday with
Baylor defeating Harpeth Hall 1-0. Baylor dominated the game but had a difficult time breaking away from the Harpeth Hall defense. In the 70:05 minute Baylor placed a perfect ball in the center of the goal and a Harpeth Hall defender knocked the ball into the goal. This was enough to put Baylor ahead of Harpeth Hall and advance them into the Division II Finals. Baylor will play Father Ryan in the Finals on Saturday at 7:00pm. |

Semifinals for the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic
Association Girls State Soccer Tournament was played in
Chattanooga. Father Ryan defeated Notre Dame 1-0. During the first half Notre Dame out shot Father Ryan 6-3, but they could not find the back of the net. Father Ryan also finished the first half scoreless which increased the pressure for both teams coming into the second half. Father Ryan increased their offensive thrust with 5 shots on goal. In the 59th minute the Fighting Irish scored the lone goal of the game with a free kick outside the penalty box. Father Ryan will advance to the Division II Finals and will play the winner of the Baylor-Harpeth Hall game. |
