Brentwood Advances to the AAA Finals

Brentwood defeated Soddy Daisy 5-0 in the AAA Girls State Soccer Tournament. Brentwood’s Claire Campbell started the game with a quick goal in the 2^nd minute of play from Leslie Anderson’s pass. Soddy Daisy was able to hold Brentwood until the 27^th minute of play when E. Bohon blasted the ball to Lauren Eyler who headed the ball over keeper Erin Lycan. Soddy Daisy continued to play physically, but the Trojans could not hold the offensive line of the Bruins. Jenn Spina of Brentwood scored twice in the game to increase the Bruin lead. The first goal was in the 61^st minute from an assist by Emily and the second goal was in the 68^th minute. Lauren Eyler passed the ball to Claire Campbell in the 67^th minute to add another goal for Brentwood. The Bruins will face Germantown Houston in the Finals on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga.

Germantown Houston Defeats Dobyns-Bennett

Germantown Houston defeated Dobyns-Bennett 2-0 in the AAA Girls State Soccer Tournament. Germantown Houston’s Andrea Brown started the game with a quick goal in the 2^nd minute of play from Allison Ashby’s pass. Germantown Houston pressured the Dobyns-Bennett defense throughout the game with 24 shots on goal. Dobyns-Bennett was able to hold Houston until the 65^th minute when Emily McLean scored on a penalty kick. Houston received the penalty kick after a Dobyns-Bennett player hit the ball with her hand in the box. Dobyns-Bennett could not recover after the second goal despite aggressive play. Germantown Houston will face Brentwood at 2:00 on Saturday in the AAA Finals at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga.
