BOARD OF CONTROL AGENDA

There were seven proposals for a change in the TSSAA Bylaws on the Regional Meetings agenda this year. A report of these meetings will be given to the Board of Control.
Power Center Academy is a charter school under the jurisdiction of the Memphis City School System. They currently have a total enrollment of 144 9th grade students and 300 students in grades 6-8.
If approved, Power Center Academy plans to offer basketball and track and field. They want to become a member and participate this school year. They will compete in Class A, District 16 (1A in football) in football, baseball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. They will compete in Class A, District 16 A-AA in cross country, golf, girls' soccer, soccer, and tennis; District 19 in bowling; Region 8 in wrestling, and A-AA (West) in track and field.
KIPP is a charter school under the jurisdiction of the Memphis School System. They currently have 9th graders with an enrollment of 121 students. Plans are to add a grade each year.
If approved, KIPP Memphis Collegiate School plans to offer basketball, track and field, and cheerleading. They will compete in Class A, District 16 (1A-FB) in football, basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. They will compete in Class A, District 16 A-AA in cross country, golf, girls' soccer, soccer, and tennis; District 19 in bowling; Region 8 in wrestling; and A-AA (West) in track and field.
Freedom Christian Academy is requesting to become a TSSAA member school beginning with the 2012-2013 school year. FCA is a category 1 school fully approved by the Tennessee Department of Education with a current enrollment of 161 students. If approved, the administration has requested to participate in Division II.
Freedom Christian Academy is located in Knoxville.
A proposal has been submitted by the Division II Committee to change the Dual Meet State Wrestling Tournament from a double elimination tournament to a single elimination tournament.
