Discussion on the TSSAA Hall of Champions Benefit Basketball games was held.  After reviewing the 2005 game expenses report, it was decided that we recommend to the TSSAA Board of Control that we begin receiving 75% of a host school’s gross gate.

Action of the TSSAA Board of Control on August 21, 2006 states that we will now receive 80% of a host school’s gross gate, beginning in 2006.

  1. TSSAA Hall of Fame Directory

A copy of the 1982 – 2006 Hall of Fame Directory was presented to each board member.  Each family in the TSSAA Hall of Fame was sent one copy of this directory.  It includes a head shot and brief information on each Hall of Fame member from 1982 to 2006.  The board decided that we should include addresses of members in future issues.

  1. Update on Field of Dreamers books

The price of the books will remain the same ($29.95 hardcover; $24.95 softcover).  We will continue to target our member schools and public libraries across the state.  Upon the suggestion of Mr. Wayne Hobbs, we will begin contacting local banks to have them possibly donate books to schools in its areas, especially those holding school accounts.

We are researching the possibility of obtaining ISBN numbers for the books.  This is a number registered with the Library of Congress, and is necessary in order to sell the books in major retail chains.

  1. Hall of Champions Website

The concept for the Hall of Champions website was presented to the board.  There were no changes or additions made.

A Canon DR-5010C scanner has been purchased in order to obtain information in the TSSAA office in an electronic format.  We agreed that we would not include TSSAA Handbooks in our project, but would use all issues of the TSSAA News and all available state tournament programs.  We will attempt to scan only the covers of the TSSAA Directories.

  1. TSSAA News Hall of Champions Column

We will begin a column in each issue of the TSSAA News featuring articles on our champions from past to present.
