LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL MINUTES
March 16, 2001

Murfreesboro, TN
  1. Approved minutes of last meeting.
  2. Re-elected Billy Joe Evans, Superintendent of Fayetteville City Schools, as President, and Pete Stafford, Assistant Principal of South Doyle High School, as Vice President.
  3. Approved softball proposal, which allows 36 as the maximum number of games that can be played in regular season and allows a maximum of five invitational tournaments with each tournament counting as four games.
  4. Approved baseball proposal, which allows 32 as the maximum number of games that can be played in regular season and allows a maximum of four invitational tournaments, with each tournament counting as three games.
  5. Took no action on request from Knox County Schools to remove limitations for schools to have a maximum of two non-faculty assistant coaches in football and one non-faculty coach in all other sports
  6. Adopted bowling as a TSSAA sanctioned sport, to begin with the 2001-2002 school year.
  7. Took no action on the request to make an exception to Division I/Division II so that all schools are placed together in wrestling.
