LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL MINUTES

- Approved minutes of last meeting.
- Re-elected Billy Joe Evans, Superintendent of Fayetteville City Schools, as President, and Pete Stafford, Assistant Principal of South Doyle High School, as Vice President.
- Approved softball proposal, which allows 36 as the maximum number of games that can be played in regular season and allows a maximum of five invitational tournaments with each tournament counting as four games.
- Approved baseball proposal, which allows 32 as the maximum number of games that can be played in regular season and allows a maximum of four invitational tournaments, with each tournament counting as three games.
- Took no action on request from Knox County Schools to remove limitations for schools to have a maximum of two non-faculty assistant coaches in football and one non-faculty coach in all other sports
- Adopted bowling as a TSSAA sanctioned sport, to begin with the 2001-2002 school year.
- Took no action on the request to make an exception to Division I/Division II so that all schools are placed together in wrestling.
