DIVISION II CLASS AA FIRST ROUND & QUARTERFINAL TEAM INFORMATION

  1. The top eight teams from the East/Middle Region and the top four teams from the West Region shall qualify for the post-season tournament. Seeding will be based on regular season records. The bracket shall be as follows:

    The Executive Director has the authority to select another site if the host's facilities are not adequate to host the game. In order to be considered as a first round or quarterfinal site, the facility must meet seat 1,250. These are to be permanent seats and based on 18" width.
  2. The girls' first round game shall be Friday, February 17, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. local time. The boys' first round game shall be Friday, February 18, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. local time. The girls' quarterfinal game shall be Friday, February 24, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. local time. The boys' quarterfinal game shall be Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. local time.
  3. Tickets and Passes:
  1. All tickets are general admission and are $7.00 each.
  2. The visiting team shall have the opportunity to receive 50% of the tickets. Money or unsold tickets must be returned to the host school no later than 5:00 p.m. the day of the game.
  3. The 2011-12 Championship Event Card will provide complimentary admittance for the first round and quarterfinal basketball games. Each member school received two event cards. This card admits ONLY ONE PERSON PER CARD. The Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA) Winter card will also provide complimentary admittance for the first round and quarterfinal basketball games. The TACA Winter card admits ONLY ONE PERSON PER CARD.
  4. Instead of issuing 25 complimentary tickets, each participating team shall use a pass list containing the names of the 25 individuals they want admitted free of charge. The pass list must include players, managers, coaches, cheerleading coach, bus driver, and other school officials.

  1. Sixteen cheerleaders in uniform and one mascot will be admitted at no charge at the players' pass gate.  Only 12 cheerleaders and one mascot may cheer on the floor. The cheer coach should have a ticket or be listed on the participating team's pass list.
  2. If requested, the host school MUST provide space at the scorers table for the visiting scorekeeper to sit next to the official scorekeeper.
  3. After all expenses have been paid, the teams that travel shall receive $1 per mile, round trip.
  4. Officials shall be assigned by the state office. The officials assigned to your sub-state game shall come from an association that does not service either school unless both schools use the same association. You will receive confirmation of assignment from the officiating crew assigned to work your sub-state game. Officials will be paid by the host school.
  5. The host school will wear white jerseys and shall be designated the home team on the scoreboard. (This applies regardless of the site of the game.)
  6. There shall be no practice at the game site. (Exception to this would be if a team uses the game site as its regular practice site.)
  7. Video taping of any high school is permitted as long as the taping or filming is for private use and not for public use. Video taping or filming must be done from the individual's seat. Individuals will not be allowed to stand or use tripods. A school will not be allowed to tape or film a game unless its team is involved in the game. All taping or filming must be approved by the Game Director.
  8. Permission to telecast live any first round and/or quarterfinal game must be approved by the TSSAA Board of Control. Permission to tape a first round and/or quarterfinal game for replay the next day may be granted by the Game Director provided the Game Director has space to accommodate the TV or Cable Station. Before taping is allowed, the station must pay the Game Director a fee of $250.00 which will be considered as part of the game receipts.
