Instructions for Head Coach of State Tournament Qualifier

Congratulations on your accomplishment in making it to the final eight in your classification. We will have a meeting on Sunday, March 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Murfreesboro for all 24 teams participating in the Girls' State Tournament. The meeting for all boys' teams advancing to the State Tournament in Murfreesboro is Saturday, March 8, at 10:00 a.m. at the Doubletree Hotel.

This is a mandatory meeting for all head coaches. We would also like an administrator from the school to be present.

At this meeting we will set the bracket in each classification with a blind draw. Teams from the same region will be in opposite brackets. We will also have media in attendance at the meeting so that they can meet with all 24 coaches.

In addition, all tournament passes, parking passes… will be given to each school.

All hotel reservations will be made in the same manner as in previous years, by going on the TSSAA website and following the lodging procedures. In the girls' tournament, you should call on Sunday, March 2, from 11:00 a.m. from 1:00 p.m. In the boys' tournament you need to call on Tuesday, March 4, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The meeting prior to the tournament is similar to the one that we used to have. It will not be as long since we are taking care of all hotel requirements prior to the meeting. The major purpose will be the draw and creating a press conference like atmosphere for the tournament. Hence, it is required for all head coaches to be present. It is our hope that this will provide an important piece to the beginning of our tournaments.
