GUIDELINES FOR TEAMS ENTERING THE TSSAA STATE SOCCER TOURNAMENT
TOURNAMENT SITE - The TSSAA State Soccer Tournament will be held at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro on Tuesday, May 21, Wednesday, May 22, Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24, 2013. The Richard Siegel Soccer Complex is located North of downtown Murfreesboro on Highway 231.
From Knoxville on I-40 - Take Highway 231 South at Lebanon towards Murfreesboro. The park is approximately 18 miles South of Lebanon on the Right. Turn right on Cherry Lane. The first park entrance on the left will be the team entrance.
From I-24 - Take Exit 78B toward Murfreesboro. Merge onto Old Fort Parkway/TN-96E. Stay straight on Old Fort Parkway/TN-96/TN-99. Continue to follow TN-96. Stay straight to go onto Memorial Blvd/US-231/TN-10. Continue to follow US-231/TN-10. Turn left on Cherry Lane. The first park entrance on the left will be the team entrance.
TEAM LODGING - Click here for a list of hotels. Schools are responsible for making their own hotel accommodations.
PARKING - Spectators and Team Buses (Athletes and Coaches) will enter the park at the first park entrance. Officials, Media and VIP's will enter the park at the second park entrance.
Parking passes for the schools qualifying for the state tournament will be included in the team packets. Those without parking passes will be charged $5 on Thursday and Friday for parking.
GENERAL ADMISSION - All tickets are general admission. There will be 4 sessions of the soccer tournament. Admission is $10 per day.
TEAM PACKETS - The coach of participating teams may pick up their team credentials 12:00 PM CST - 6:00 PM CST on Monday, May 20 at the BlueCross SpringFling Headquarters. The BlueCross SpringFling Headquarters will be located at the Murfreesboro SportsCom, which is located on Highway 231. After 2:00 PM CST Tuesday, the participating teams will pick up their team credentials at the team gate at Richard Siegel Park. The team packets contain credentials for players, managers, and coaches which will allow them into all events at the BlueCross SpringFling.
PARTICIPANT PASSES - Each participating team will be allowed 25 passes. Participant passes are for varsity players and student managers ONLY. Coaches should make preliminary plans for who will receive the passes. Participants must have passes displayed or they will be charged admission. ADDITIONAL PASSES WILL NOT BE GIVEN OUT.
There will be a host to meet the teams when they arrive at the designated entrance. Credentials will be issued and tournament procedures will be reviewed. Any spectators or others on the team bus must plan to pay admission for each day.
COACHES' PASSES - The number of coaches' passes that each school will receive will be based on the number of soccer coaches that each school has registered online with TSSAA. You will need to check with your school's athletic director to make sure that this has been done. You will be given a pass for each soccer coach that is registered online by May 13, 2013. You will also be given one extra pass to use as you wish. If you have a team trainer that you would like to have access to the field and the trainer has not received the TSSAA medical credential, you will have to use this extra pass for the trainer. ADDITIONAL PASSES WILL NOT BE GIVEN OUT.
TOURNAMENT SQUAD - Tournament squads are limited to a maximum of 22 players. Coaches may choose to dress more but only 22 may be on the game roster. This roster may be changed each day. THE BENCH AREA WILL BE LIMITED TO COACHES, PLAYERS, AND MANAGERS ONLY.
TOURNAMENT BRACKET - A copy of the state tournament bracket can be found here. The fields and game times are listed on the bracket.
The top team in the bracket is the home team and will wear white or light jerseys and stockings.
DRESSING AREA - No dressing areas will be available. Please make plans to come dressed for play.
TEAM COOLERS - Team coolers will be allowed in the park.
PRACTICE - There will be practice fields available at the complex. Teams arriving in Murfreesboro on Monday, May 20 or Tuesday, May 21 and needing a field can contact Mr. Thomas Laird at (615) 642-3725 on Monday, May 20 to reserve a field and time slot. Teams qualifying for Friday's finals can set up practice times for Thursday with Mr. Laird on Wednesday after the semi-final match. Fields designated for state tournament games will not be assigned for practice.
On games days, warm-up areas will be assigned prior to each game. Access to game fields will be directed by tournament personnel.
VIDEO CAMERAS - Video taping or filming is permitted as long as the taping or filming is for private use or use by the two schools involved and not for public or commercial use. Video taping or filming must be done from the individual's seat. Individuals will not be allowed to use tripods. A school taping or filming its own game may use a tripod. A school will not be allowed to tape or film a game unless its team is involved in the game. All taping or filming by a school may be approved by the local Game Director, and the Game Director shall assign space, when available, from which to tape or film.
