2008 DIVISION I SECTIONAL TEAM INFORMATION

  1. Regional winners shall host the Sectional game at its gymnasium as listed below:

    Site 1: Winner Region 1 host Second Region 2
    Site 2: Winner Region 2 host Second Region 1
    Site 3: Winner Region 3 host Second Region 4
    Site 4: Winner Region 4 host Second Region 3
    Site 5: Winner Region 5 host Second Region 6
    Site 6: Winner Region 6 host Second Region 5
    Site 7: Winner Region 7 host Second Region 8
    Site 8: Winner Region 8 host Second Region 7

  2. Sectional matches shall be Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. local time.

  3. For the purpose of coin toss and scoreboard designation, the regional winner is considered the home team.

  4. Tickets and passes:

  1. All tickets are general admission and are $6.00 each.

  2. No passes will be accepted.
  3. Each team will be allotted 20 admissions by the host school for admitting players, managers, coaches and other school officials.
  4. The 2008-09 Championship Event Card will provide complimentary admittance for the sectional vollebyall match. Each member school received two event cards. This card admits ONLY ONE PERSON PER CARD and replaces the use of the TSSAA Directory for school's complimentary admittance. This is the ONLY acceptable card/pass for complimentary admittance to the sectional volleyball match.

  1. Cheerleaders in uniforms will be admitted free. Each team is limited to 12 cheerleaders for admittance and for cheering during the Sectional game.

  2. Also, you will find information in regard to the 2008 TSSAA State Volleyball Tournament for Division I and Division II should your team win its Sectional match on our web site.

  3. The principal of the host school shall be the Game Director. The Game Director shall make a financial report based on the financial arrangements listed below:

  1. The Game Director will compute the expenses for two game officials and the visiting team’s mileage.

  2. Game officials shall receive $60.00 each and if they live outside the county where the match is being held, they should receive 15 cents per mile round trip.

  3. The home team shall receive no expenses.

  4. Teams within 50 miles of the tournament site shall not receive mileage. Teams over 50 miles away shall receive 36 cents per mile round trip. No other team expenses will be paid.

  5. Game officials and administrative cost shall be paid first before any team mileage is allowed. If receipts are not sufficient to pay the officials and game expenses, the host team and TSSAA shall share these costs and no team mileage shall be allowed.

  6. After officials, administrative costs, and team expenses have been paid, the net receipts should be divided between the host school, and TSSAA. Mail a check for 1/3 of the net receipts to the principal of the visiting school along with a copy of the financial report. Mail a check for 1/3 of the net receipts with a copy of the financial report to TSSAA.

    All checks for district, regional, and sectional tournaments and playoffs must be distributed within 10 business days of the completion of the tournament or game. Failure to do so will result in a $100.00 late fee to be paid to TSSAA and is to be used in the A.F. Bridges sportsmanship program to go to schools or students receiving awards. Failure to distribute funds within 20 business days will result in an additional $200 late fee (total $300.00). Failure to distribute funds within 40 business days will result in an additional $200.00 late fee (total $500.00). The school may not host any tournament or playoff until the principal or athletic director appears before the Board of Control to explain their reasons for not distributing the checks within the required time frame. The Board would then determine whether the school can host tournaments or playoffs in the future.

  1. The host school shall provide the game ball and tickets to sell at the gate.

  2. The host team shall provide the scorer, timer and two line judges.
